A decent use of miles


Your cents-per-mile (cpm) is between 1.7 and 2.0. This is okay, but not great.

You should feel perfectly okay using your miles at this level. You’re getting a fair value, and you’re certainly not getting ripped off. The miles would be put to good use.

That said, the miles might be put to better use on another itinerary. Flying international business class on a trip across the ocean, for example. Maybe you should buy the ticket — earning you some more miles — which you can use on a better value?

It’s really a toss-up, value-wise. See what the airline has available for awards, and then decide.
