I know for a fact Alaska Airlines does not fly out of Baton Rouge Airport, I have been flying Alaska for 16 years a few times a month and they have never lost my luggage ever. So maybe your connecting carrior did not transfer like they were suppossed too, but Alaska still gave you the miles

My date of travel was August 23, 2010, from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to Seattle, Washington. My checked luggage has not arrive at SeaTac, Airport as of this date and time. Program ID; [redacted], Authorization Code- H4A59074A43788S5. I claim to have 2,000 Milage Plan miles deposited into my Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan account.

Well, no, that's not what I'm saying. I don't prefer other companies' policies, but I'm suggesting that Alaska Airlines is making their guarantee sound a lot better than it really is. You're right, it's an improvement over not having a "guarantee" at all.

So you prefer the model used by all the other carriers where you give them money and must hope your baggage makes it? Sure it's not perfect, but it's a heck of a lot better than the other carriers have done.
