I agree that the demand for purchasing the car would likely price it much higher than some of Detroit's surplus inventory. Since that FOX encounter, I've wondered about Zipcar since they seem to have the Prius available in large quantities. Maybe a U:TB intern could inquire how and why they make it work at Zipcar? I got a Prius each time, though I never actually requested it. I think I was upgraded to it. It's pretty cool to return the car after putting less than 2 gallons of gas to top it off! For some of us, renting hybrids is more of a moral choice than anything else as we want to do everything in our power to help the environment.
