Until then you will have to do the screening manually." So far all I get is a few gruff remarks and am then escorted to their little searching glass cube for the pat down. When the TSA person tells me I have to step into the backscatter machine I just tell them:

“I’m sorry, but I do not feel comfortable stepping into a machine that subjects my entire body to x-rays until I see conclusive scientific evidence that there is no long term negative impact. Until then you will have to do the screening manually.”
