Surely if AirTran believe their upgrades are fairly priced, they're not going to lose any advance sales, while offering a cheaper option as the plane is about to taxi could make an extra twenty dollars on otherwise empty seats... For the second time, and last time, this year I have booked a flight with AirTran through AmEx Travel (our corporate booking agency). Both times, I have been unable to check-in online. My itinerary shows the flight info, confirmed status, booking record locator, my A+ number, etc., but no joy with online check-in. Any clues about their incompetence in this specific area? Oh, and I WON'T give them a penny more for any upgrade. Man, was this blog timely.
