Usually when you have “Price Assurance”
it means that should you find a better price, they’ll match it.

NOT SO at Orbitz.

If someone else buys it cheaper elsewhere= no guarantee.
If someone else buys it cheaper at orbitz = guarantee.

Be Forewarned. This is not much of a guarantee. Its a fast talking Con Game.

ORBITZ Price Assurance? Haha.

I have 1st hand experience at this “Price Assurance”.
You see, it doesnt matter how cheap it is elsewhere.
How cheap someone got it elsewhere at half the price does not qualify. What qualifies is when Orbitz price drops for that item.

It is a little tricky if not VERY TRICKY!!
Recently I purchased an airline ticket for $250 at Orbitz.
I found that the cost for that same ticket direct was $100.
Orbitz not only did NOT refund the money, but never returned any of my calls. You want to see the proof? I got it.

I guess I would find this out myself. My trip is in a month. I booked a R/T flight to PI months back, paid $1,022. The same itinerary is priced at $905 today. I’m looking at over $100 of refund if I’m lucky. I have to hope that someone out there will book the same exact flight as I did. Wait a second, but there are 100 different airlines and 500 travel agents to choose from so what are the odds that somebody would actually book the same cheaper flight with Orbitz? Obviously, very very low. This Price Assurance is not a promotion folks, instead, a marketing strategy to lure us in. The fact that you did not overpay for the flight should be more than enough to make you happy. The “check refund” would come as a bonus if there ever will be. Word of advice to all: If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Orbitz has 2 different scams going. The Price Assurance and Low Price Guarantee. Neither of these is collectible. Here’s why.

Low Price Guarantee. If the hotel you book does not allow cancellation, you cannot collect a “Low Price Guarantee” check, even if Orbitz shows the Low Price Guarantee LOGO on the booking site. Because a non-refundable reservation automatically disqualifies the Low Price Guarantee. Most travelers will not realize this because Orbitz baits you by posting the LPG LOGO.

Second is the Price Assurance scam. Yes, to qualify, the traveler paying the lower price MUST also book the hotel for the exact same date(s), same room type and all other details must match perfectly to collect. Impossible.

So no matter what, you will almost NEVER collect on either of these scams.
