[...] Upgraded: Airline revenue streams Starting this week, Delta has started slapping advertising on some self-printed boarding passes, under an agreement with the marketing company Sojern. See a sample image below. Is it annoying? Maybe. But frankly, I can’t get worked up over this. Cranky is upset about the “demographically” targeted ads that appear on the page, but I see demographically-targeted ads on dozens of websites every day, and I’ve made my peace with those, so I’m just shrugging this one off. I’d rather see ads on boarding passes than “web convenience fees” or tray-table advertisements. [...]

I do not travel that much. When I do travel, My flights are most commonly Southwest or AA. I can deal with low scale advertising such as in snack provides(opening a pack of Orea cookies), and that is not really advertising per say.

THe magazines such as American Way are fine.

But plastering the stuff on tray tables and such is downright tacky. I will never, if I can avoid it, fly the likes of Ryan Air for that reason.

If I was on a business trip, I would be annoyed, but then I get annoyed on vacations where people see tourists/visitors as walking bags of cash.

At least Southwest Airlines still traets their passengers with some dignity.
