These girls are living my dream. They give great descriptions, are funny, and make you feel like you are right there with them. They have great pictures as well to show you just how beautiful the rest of the world is. Almost all of the places they go are places out of the norm, which makes it even more interesting.

I cast my vote for lostgirlsworld.blogspot.com. This travel blog is very informative, insightful, and funny at the same time. We see the world through the eyes of three young women. They are teaching the reader how people live all over the world, the human condition, and what one might expect when the travel bug bites. Thought-provoking, funny, at times tender. We love the lostgirlsworld blog!!

lostgirlsworld.blogspot.com is the blog that I have to read daily. There is so much to learn about our world and this sight teaches in an empathetic human sort of way. It is touching and informative at the same time.

Travel is such a subjective experience, it’s almost impossible to have a good ongoing travel blog that’s not group-contributed. Brave New Traveler’s has regular guest posts - it gives the site authority and a widened perspective on travel. I hope BNT is considered for a Travvie - it’s the best travel writing i’ve seen in one place for a long time!

My favorite lately in Vagablond.com. They have about 15 contributors and the selection of topics is rather nice.

Full Disclosure: I’m one of their regular contributors. As a travel writer, it’s the only site I write for on a regular basis. Gil the editor is great and I like the fact that the contributors are travel writers from around the world. Go Vagablond!

I second the motion on TripHub’s Group Trip Advisor (http://advisor.triphub.com) I am a little biased, of course, but Jocelyn is the best travel writer I know.

I support the nomination of TripHub Group Trip Advisor. They’re doing a great job!

Be extremely careful booking travel through Virgin-Vacations on the west coast. If you go through the Seattle office, you may experience problems. Not only did they issue my ticket to Italy in the wrong name, which I caught before the flight, but when they reissued it they had booked me on a seperate plane from my teenaged daughters. Luftansa and United have a cooperative agreement and after they “fixed” their ticketing nightmare,
they insisted that it was the same flight, just one reflected the United number, and the other the Luftansa number. I commmented to them that even the departure time was different by two minutes, they assured me that it was same flight, when it turned out we were on two different planes!! Buyer beware, very young, un-traveled agents in that office!!! They’ve never responded to my e-mail when I got home. It’s too bad, last VVacations to England, had no problem.

Excellent set of nominations. Even though I know that the nominations are closed, perhaps just a honorable mention I would include: hotelsangildar.com for a small Costa Rican hotel… ok? Great! Thanks,
Heidi
