Oliver, this actually happens. (Well, maybe not the TV fixed on HSN) If you ever fly US Airways, they often pitch the SkyMall catalog and offer a "special discount" if you fill out the order form and hand it back to that friendly flight attendant. I always wonder if they're getting a kickback.

Online bazaar in the sky? Wait til they put Home Shopping Network on those TV screens, instead of recycled TV shows. Instead of calling to order (the airphones will have been removed by then), fill out an order form and hand it to your friendly flight attendant.

Agreed, re: the fact that you get a receipt when you use credit/debit is a major reason to favor cards.

I'm not sure I look forward to an online bazaar in the sky, though. I understand why they might want to do it, from a revenue standpoint, but ughh...

AirTran only takes debit or credit... and I welcome it as it is better to track expenses, especially for business.

Now if the airlines get smart and take it to the next level and offer other things for sale - similar to international flights - to offer additional revenue streams, but I digress. :)
