I signed up to receive the Economist with some about to expire Delta miles. My first copy started arriving ~5 weeks later. It was hassle free and well worth it, although you’re right that the magsformiles site doesn’t exactly inspire confidence!

Don’t waste your time with AA’s program, just avoid flying the carrier and use miles on another carrier that has their act together.

Nancy, the magazine options vary from time to time. Time was an option a few months ago, but may not be today. Keep checking back with the airlines’ sites, as linked in the post. You never know what will pop up.

I also sent in my redemption for magazines. When 2 months went by I called and there was no record of my order. Now, 2 months later, some of the magazines I ordered are no longer available and what is available does not appeal to me, yet I have to order something. Why bother to send out the offer if they have no intention of sending them.

I have also experienced nothing but trouble from Magazines for Miles through AA. When signing up for a subscription I receive an error that my account has insufficient funds which is definitely not the case. Their call center claims that they cannot help with problems regarding their own website. However, if I had saved a direct mailing from them I could return that to redeem the miles. Since I no longer have their direct mailing they told me there it was not possible to actually order magazines from them.

i have had lots of problems with magazines for miles as well. i processed my order online, called to follow up, and they had no record of my order. despite the fact that i received confirmation emails! now they’re telling me that i need a promotional code. does someone have the code to share?! thanks.
