I went to Puerto Vallarta last Dec with my kids. On the way home two needed to go to Los Angeles. I booked the oneway's from travelocity to Ontanio Ca. Ontanio is just a few miles out of LA. The airline travelocity booked them with Aeromexico. A few days before we went down to Mexico the kids found out they had to be in LA. a day before their flight. They called travelocity paid 150.00 each plus about 250.00 becouse the tickets cost more now. Two days after they made the change I got a e-mail from travelocity telling me to call them ASAP. When I called I was told that Aeromexico no longer go into Ontanio CA. and I would haft to buy a new ticket. This time I went right to the airline (not the same one). First travelocity sead thay could not help me I had to go to the Aeromexico and Aeromexico sead I had to talk to travelocity. it took 90 plus day to get a refund and the kicker they will not give back back the change fee of 300.00 total. SOOOOOOOOOOOO do not use travelocity to buy your tickets!!!!!! never! never! Bill

I had a similar problem when I tried to book tickets from the UK. In that instance I was told I couldn't use them in the UK and had to book through the US Office in Chicago, which meant sending flight details, credit card details and voucher by international registered post. In the end, I couldn't buy the flight I wanted and had to buy a more expensive ticket. This meant that by the time all costs had been taken into account it actually cost me $70 to use the voucher to save £50.

When I tried to complain to United, my letters were ignored. Some 11 months on, I am still writing and asking for an explanation and will shortly make a nuisance of myself to the Vice-President.

[...] Paying customers for the airline’s failures is interesting. We’ll see if it’s cash, or the dreaded voucher. [...]

[...] Now you have to hope that the certificate you buy can actually be redeemed at its face value. Since it’s an e-certificate, you should be alright. But beware the paper certificate option. [...]
