TSA apparently prefers its water in aerosol form

I went to the TSA’s website just now, and as I saw the now-classic image of the liquids in the plastic bag (above), it hit me: The item on the far right is an aerosol can of Evian water.
Of all the personal items they could use as a demonstration, they chose aerosol water?
The first time I saw this product was on my honeymoon in Barbados. One of the hotels on our trip had a beach attendant who provided chilled washcloths and offered to spray you with Evian water from a can like the TSA is picturing. I thought it was a rather silly extravagance to be sprayed with water — and not just any water, French mineral water — while lounging on an island in the Caribbean.
Yet I still keep a can from the trip in my desk at the office. But maybe the TSA was wiser than we thought, or at the cutting edge of in-flight travel care: Line three of the product description reads, “Great for use after you travel by air to combat the effects of dry, dehydrating pressurized cabin air.”

I really need to try to invent something silly so I can make a few million and retire.

I’ve always thought that bottled water was the silliest thing in the known universe (1st world only).
Now I know better.

It’s perfect for helping to get rehydrated during long, arduous 26 hour car journeys down through France (like I used to do with my parents when I was a LOT younger)… And yeah, we didn’t have aircon in our car for a LONG time, so you had to find some other way of cooling down. It does have its uses - spray the air around you, sure some of the water gets evaporated into the air inside the car, but you aim it at yourself
it does help to cool you down, if only a little.
Still, a little’s better than nothing I guess
For air travel though, c’mon - that really is ridiculous

You CAN get them in the U.S. The post above links to Amazon. But why would you want them?

My wife has used it on airplanes for ages now and swears by it. And it comes in really handy when you’re, say, in Spain in July. And it’s really very very practical. And no, it doesn’t have to be Evian - I just never saw any other brand of water in aerosol cans.

Dehydration is always a problem for me on flights, particularly long haul flights. I always request water to drink, carry with me my favourite hand lotion and lip balm and recently started bringing the Evian in a can. The idea of Evian in a spray can might seem ridiculous (it did to me at first), but it’s really great for your face. I find it refreshing and hydrating. While it costs a few dollars it does last for quite a while I flew on a red eye to Europe over the summer days after the restrictions were put into place and I wasn’t allowed any of the above…I am so glad they loosened the restrictions b/c my skin felt absolutely horrible after the flight.
