It may be the over-commercialization of public spaces, but I’d still rather see airports offer power outlets sponsored by a bank than see airport managers cover up the sockets. Benet Wilson snapped this photo of a sponsored power outlet at Indianapolis Airport.

Time to add Indy to the Air Power Wiki, the directory of power sockets in airports around the world. (Benet, I’ll leave that to you…)

    Great idea. Thanks Chase Bank.

Now what’s needed are Wifi zones sponsored, of course. With all the traveling I do on my pilgrimage in spreading Australian cuisine around the world, it is frustrating to keep up with emails and Skype calls.

If a sponsor wants real kudos, maybe Wifi is next.

Agreed 100%, Vic. I’d even be willing to sit through a 20-sec web ad or something similar to get free wi-fi.

Excellent – and here’s hoping they put some chairs near the power outlets. I can’t tell you how many airport floors I’ve sat on in order to recharge my laptop. Or even better, get in-seat power outlets in coach. I bet I’m not the only one who’d pay a little extra for that!
