hey what i do is find the best restaurant in the airport and tell the waiter i,m waiting for friends so i get a big booth / table and crash out for 2 hours reading news papers / working on the internet , waste of money paying for lounges

I usually go to amazon.com to purchase delta one day pass tickets, cheaper than walking up and getting it at lounge.

I am all about making the normal waiting area into my own personal little lounge. I fly every week for work and have received similar advice about investing in the expensive lounge areas but I don’t really see much of a difference, other than the fact the the majority of “loungers” are also dejected business travelers with sour drinks and looks on their faces. I used to just camp out with a downloaded netflix movie and a double vanilla latte as close to the gate as possible. Granted, I have to brave screaming children (that is what the bose noise canceling headphones are for), I have now found solace in the capacity of the iphone. I usually just watch a few episodes of Family Guy, play some tetris, or the most applicable game ever, I read in the economist last week about. . . . Jet Set, or Jetset or something, an actual iphone game made for airports. . . . the irony is beautiful. I don’t know, I take a “bring your own candy to the theater attitude” and just set myself up, save money, and avoid the other tired and hungry business loungers.
